Be sure to imPRESS with this 5 minute home manicure

I have stumbled upon a lifesaver that I could not wait to share with you: imPRESS nails.

Now, I know some of you may be picturing the hideous false nails of the 1980s, but read on and see for yourself before you form your final opinion.

These nails provided an instant manicure for a mother of two who barely finds time to shower, let alone fuss over her nails. I applied them while watching tv with my kids mere minutes before I left for dinner and a movie with a few girlfriends. The process was dead-easy and the final look was so satisfying. Plus, every single woman present that evening commented on how great my nails looked, none of whom knew they were not my own.

I am a very down-to-earth woman, but I also like to dress up whenever I get the chance. ImPRESS press-on manicure provided the perfect combination for me. The length of the nails is modest so I did not feel like I had grown claws. But even if someone else was to find the package length unsuitable, they could clip and file them without affecting the finish. The nails are flexible and the adhesive is safe. Plus, you do not need to soak your nails in acetone to remove them at the end of the week. Simply peel off!

Here are a few tips I can share, having tried them myself:

1. Remove your own polish and clean each nail with the provided pad;
2. Identify the size that works best for your nail bed. There are 12 different sizes in the package to ensure a more natural fit;
3. Line up the nails you have selected. Remove the backing adhesive. Begin applying the nails to your dominant hand, starting with the pinky finger working your way to your thumb;
4. Clip and file to your desired length.

The polish is already on each nail so no need to fuss with that either. There are 18 solid colours ($6.99), and 18 patterns ($8.99) if you are feeling funky, from which to choose. Isn’t that great?! Why would you ever go back to a salon when you can get a professional-looking manicure for a fraction of the cost?

The product not only looks but, more importantly, feels natural. Once the manicure was applied, I forgot I had anything on my hands (except when I caught a glimpse of my new fabulous nails instead of my old brittle ones). Plus, I was able to carry out all normal duties as a mother and as a writer.
